You have outlined the need for a flawless resume very nicely and clearly. Many a people don't pay as much attention to tweaking their resume, to best showcase their qualifications, as they should. A resume alone won't land anyone a job but there is no doubt that it becomes the single most important introduction of an applicant to an employer. If it is accompanied by a well crafted cover letter, the combination would get the attention of hiring authorities and the ball would start rolling. Another very important point above mentioned by you is about filling up the resume with relevant keywords - action words as you call them - as a lack of such words would make the resume slip past the scan of recruiters, thus rendering the whole exercise futile. Good advice. Thanks.

A CV needs to be a document that highlights your skills and achievements. Also it is an opportunity to get you the chance of an interview with a prospective employer. Hence right planning and presentation is most important.
