There are so many job boards out there (and more every day) it’s sometimes hard to pick the ones that will work for you. As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, you should pick a handful (5 or so) job boards that work for you (don’t try to use them all). One of your handful should be one that you alternate with a list of sites you’ve either not tried or do not have frequent updates.
- Accountingjobstoday.com – This is a targeted job search site for Accounting related jobs. The main page for this site has tabs at the top for AJT (the job related links for this site), Job Resources, Career Center and more. From the center of the page you can post your resume, Find your next job, or Learn (earn a degree). Featured companies run down the right hand side of the page. There is a simple search engine below the Post/Find sections on the left hand side of the screen followed by “Featured Accounting Jobs Today!”. Click on Find Your Next Job to link to the main job seekers page. Here you will find an advance job search engine, with tabs at the top of the page to manage your account, Resumes/letters and job alerts. There were over 2,500 job opportunities when I checked the site.
- Callcenterjobs.com -This job search board is dedicated to Customer Service, Help Desk, Telesales and eCommerce jobs (according to their tag line). There are tabs at the top of the main page for Search Jobs, Employee Center, Post Resume, Company Profiles and more. The left hand side of the screen is dedicated to Employees (job seekers) with links that are similar to the tabs at the top. A few featured employers are listed at the bottom of the page. Click on Search Jobs to link to the main search page. Here you can search by category or state.
- Constructionjobs.com – The Nation’s #1 job board and database for construction, design/build and engineering industries according to the tag line, the main page on this site has tabs at the top for Job Seekers, My Account and Career Center. The left hand side of the screen is split between Job Seekers and Employer with the Job Seekers section including links to Login, Register, Resume Writing Services, Search Jobs and more. The center of the page (right center) has the link for Job Seekers with featured jobs and featured employers on the right hand side. Click on search jobs to link to the main search engine.
- Tinytechjobs.com – “tiny technology. BIG OPPORTUNITIES” – The tag line for this job search board. What exactly is tiny tech? Basically it is Nanotech, micotech, biotech and IT jobs. The top of the page has links for Job Seekers, News/Blogs, Events, Resources and more. The left hand side of the screen is dedicated to job seekers (while the right hand side of the screen is dedicated to employers). Login, Search Jobs, Register, Salary Info plus other links can be accessed from the left hand side of the page. There is a quick search at the top of the page followed by featured jobs. Click Search Jobs to reach the main search engine.
- Healthjobsusa.com – According the lead on this site, there are over 275,000 health care and medical jobs on this site. The left hand side of the page has tabs for Browse Jobs, Post / View Resumes, plus more. Click on Browse Jobs from the left hand side of the screen to link to the search page where you will have to choose between Standard Search, Advanced Search or Company Name Search. Selecting Standard Search leads to a map based page where you can select one or more states or territories followed by selections for job category and type.
Good luck in your search.
