Who’s Hiring in Technology

Career advice can be generic in nature when reviewing a specific topics, but each career and industry has idiosyncrasies that should be considered when personalizing your career documents and conducting your search. After getting the basics regarding content (and this applies to all of your career documents), you should visit sites that provide examples for your particular field as well search sites that specialize in your career choice.

Is anyone hiring in Technology? You bet, there are Tech jobs in Tech companies, Tech jobs in consulting and Tech jobs in non-Tech companies. Today’s links will cover a range of sites – tips, search sites and a jobs at company sites (rather than focusing on one type).

  • Resume Tips for Technology Professionals – This article, by Monster Career Advice, covers specific requirements for Technology resumes. The article covers resume components and provides additional links for some of the specifics. There are Technology career specific links provided at the end of the article.
  • JustTechJobs – This site, as you might suspect, focuses on job search for Technologists. There are tabs at the top for Searching Jobs, Posting a Resume and “About Us”. Clicking on the “About Us ” link launches an amazing page with 120 related websites which are specific to your technology specialty (like JustOracleJobs.com). The main page lists Recent Tech Jobs on the left-hand side, with a quick search at the top Tech news feeds below. There is a Jobseekers Briefcase
  • Hewlet Packard – HP’s career website provides an overview of the company with links to Search Job and Submit your Profile on the left of the page. Their are separate tabs for Students & Graduates and Diversity. Searching all HP jobs returns over 2,000 opportunities with Information Technology returning 123 jobs (additional technical jobs can be found under other categories).
  • Adidas – The Adidas Career Center has links to a Students & Graduates page, the Adidas Design Academy, a program for MBAs and a Job Board which is segregated by region. A quick search on North America returns 62 jobs with 5 of those being Technology related while Europe returned 76 jobs with 10 of those being Technology related.
