Who’s Hiring at the Best Companies to Work For – 2010 Vol 2

No time for losers ‘Cause we are the champions – of the world” – Freddie Mercury

We all need to work (unless you are independently wealthy). So why not make work a great experience? Why not provide benefits that make people feel good about getting up every morning and going to work? The companies on the “Best List” have a common theme. They all recognize that, while having a great product is important (otherwise they would not be in business), treating your employees as your most important asset is key to success. As you do your research to find the best company for you, why not consider the best to work for? The companies listed today range from entertainment to consulting and technology. There were more than 1,000 career opportunities across these companies.

  • DreamWorks Animation SKG – New to the list last year (at number 47), DreamWorks has moved up to number 6 this year. Their website and career page have amazing animation (as you would expect from an animation company). Their main career page has three choices: Internships, Jobs and Outreach. Their Outreach program is a partnership with universities for entry level jobs. Clicking on “Jobs” leads to their job openings. Scroll down to see detail on each job and click “more” or “apply here” on any job for additional background with a link to “how to apply”. They do not have a resume post ability, but you can email your resume.
  • NetApp – Number 7 on this year’s list, NetApp is a Technology company. Their career page provides a link for a company overview with tab links to Life at NetApp, Your Career, University Recruiting and Find a Job. You can click on “Search Job Openings” or “open positions” from the main page.  Information on University Recruiting is available on the Careers tab (including New Grads, Events and Summer Interns). The Job Search tool returned 436 job opportunities across all of the company’s locations.
  • Boston Consulting Group – You’ve hopefully figured out that BCG is a consulting company and is ranked at number 8 this year. Also a very well known and highly respected consulting firm.  Their career page which includes background on the company, career path and how to apply. You can apply online or check out their college recruiting program if you are still in school.
  • Qualcomm – Ranked 9, Qualcomm manufactures and markets digital wireless telecommunications products. They are headquartered in San Diego, California and hire quite a few interns every year (globally). Their career site has links (left-hand side of the page) to How to Apply, Profile (you can register on the site), Job Search and separate links for Experienced Hires and Students. A quick search returned 522 job opportunities across all locations (globally). You can search at any time but need to register on the site to submit your resume and apply for any opportunities.
  • Camden Property Trust – Ranked 10 on this year’s list (up from 41 last year), this apartment home developer has over interests in and operated 183 properties containing 63,286 apartment homes across the United States. Their career page offers information on the company and their benefits. “Search Now” is a link on the left hand side of the page where you can browse open jobs, search open jobs or edit your profile. There were 55 job opportunities when I checked using a simple search.

Good luck in your search.
