Who’s Hiring at “The Best Companies to Work For” – 2009

Hot off the presses, Fortune has just issued their new “The Best Companies to Work For” list in the most recent edition of the magazine. If you have the print version of the magazine, you will see that the tag line – “Yes, They’re Still Hiring“. I will cover the list over the next few weeks, not repeating any companies that were already reviewed here and were on last year’s list.

  • NetApp – Number 1 on this year’s list, NetApp is a Technology company. Their career page gives a company overview with tab links to Benefits, Culture, Careers and Open Positions. You can click on “Search Job Openings” or “Submit your Resume Online” from the main page.  Information on University Recruiting is available on the Careers tab (including New Grads, Events and Summer Interns).   • Methodist Hospital System – Methodist is number 8 on the list (up from 10 last year) and is based in Houston, Texas. Their career page has a Company Overview, Job Postings, Benefits and Internships. The Job Postings page has a link to a Career Center where you post your resume and manage your job search. The Job Search function returned 425 opportunities (including part time and per diem jobs). Click here to see the Fortune snapshot.
  • Nugget Market – An 81 year old company that has never had a layoff, Nugget Market is number 10 on the 2009 list and is located in California. Their career page provides company news and history as well as an “Apply Now” link and review of benefits. Job search is not available. Interested candidates should apply online.   • Adobe Systems – Adobe is a software company and is number 11 on the list. Their career page leads with their “Best Company” awards (also on Canada’s Top Employers list). There is detail on Culture and Benefits, Locations, Company Profile and University Recruiting. Adobe also has a Consulting practice as a career choice (with a link on the main career page). You can register on the site and create a profile and post your resume. You can also search for job opportunities (175 were listed across all locations) without registering.
