By my count, I’ve listed tens of thousands of job opportunities since I started this blog last August.  Sounds hard to believe, but if you take into consideration all of the job boards, company career sites and headhunters I’ve covered and count the jobs on each of those sites, can I be far off? Today’s post will focus on science related job search resources. What about the thousands of jobs – check my prior posts as well or some of the resources on the right-hand side of this page and look below for thousands more.

• Jobscience.com – The main site of this job search board does not give any background information regarding the site but based on the name the assumption is that the site focuses on the sciences. A general search returned over over 4,600 job opportunities (thousands of job opportunities!). Based on the job search (which are all technical in nature), the site is national and most appear to be medical opportunities. Selecting any job opportunity leads to the job description and clicking on “apply now” takes you to a screen where you can sign in or register.
• Naturejobs.com – “The premier science jobs recruitment website” is the tag line for this for this site. The main page indicates how many science jobs are currently posted on the site (5,142 when I checked). Tabs at the top of the page include Job Seekers, News & Comments, Career Toolkit, Career Fairs and more. Science jobs of the week are included on the right hand side of the page. You can sign-up for a job-seeker newsletter as well as job alerts. Middle of the page allows search by title, discipline, region or employers with featured employers are listed at the bottom of the page.
• LocumTenens.com – This site offers a wide range of choices. The main page is very busy. Articles are at the bottom of the page with “search for a specialty” is at the right center of the page. You can register and search for a job (right hand side of the page). There are drop down boxes to select a specailty for your job search.
• Medzilla.com – There are over 3,800 active jobs on this site. Job seekers resources are on the left hand side of the site where you can search for jobs, post your resume and review job forums. The middle of the page lists approximately 50 featured employers (clicking on any employer returns the job opportunities for that company).
• ScienceCareers – This career site is from the journal Science and provides a wide range of resources. Articles are included at the bottom of the page with featured jobs listed on the right-hand side of the page. Search for Jobs is in the center of the page. Clicking on the tab Find a Job leads to additional links for Job Search, Browse all Jobs, By Employer, Biotechnology jobs and more. You can save searches and create alerts.
