At long last, this post will take us through the remainder of the Best Companies series. For those that may have missed the earlier posts on this topic, just type “Best Companies” in the upper right hand corner search bar and the search will return the previous posts. So without further ado, on to the Best Companies to Work for.
- Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants – Okay, so I can’t tell you that this companies name was on the tip of my tongue, but that shouldn’t stop you from talking a look at this company (ranked 95 on this year’s list). Kimpton is an operator of luxury hotels (most of which you’ve heard of). Their career page leads with a (rather large) mention of their listing on the Best Companies list. Below this there are a number photo links to assorted career related sections. Start with Job Search from the top of the page to bring up the job search page. Select your criteria and you’re set to go. There were over a hundred jobs when I checked the site.
- T-Mobile – Ranked 96, T-Mobile is the wireless phone company owned by Deutsche Telekom. Their career site is easy to use. The top of the page has a simple search engine on the top left hand side with Career Agent set-up on the right hand side. Below this are several tabs, including College, Events, Hiring process and more. “Search T-Mobile Jobs” is the best place to start. You can use the simple search provided or click More Search Options for advanced search. There were 500 job opportunities when I checked the site.
- Accenture – This company is ranked 97 on the list (not on the list last year) and is known for management consulting, technology services and outsourcing. Their career site has tabs at the top for Working Here, Career Options, Search Jobs and more. The middle of the page has a brief paragraph about the company and a number of other career search tools below this. You can explore where you fit by clicking “Find out where your skills fit in at Accenture”. Search Jobs links to a page that lists all of the countries where Accenture is located. Click you country from the list to see opportunities. Clicking the US, as an example, returned 299 job opportunities when I check the site.
- Vanderbilt University – An educational institution, Vanderbilt is the first to make the list (and is ranked 98). Their career site is different from what is typical, providing several options for job search – search jobs, drop off your resume, use their resume builder program, mail or fax your resume. Clicking Search Jobs at the bottom of the page leads to their job search engine with several links on the left hand side of the page for How to Apply, Types of Positions and more. As with most other sites, you can register as well. Using their search engine returned 257 job opportunities when I checked.
- General Mills – Ranked at 99 (down from 69 last year), General Mills is best known for Betty Crocker, Häagen-Dazs, Pillsbury, Green Giant, Old El Paso and Cheerios brands. Their career page has links on the left for Job Search, Experienced, Careers and more. The middle of the page has additional links for Job Search, and Campus Events and Career Fairs. Click on Job Search to register on the site or select search openings at the bottom which will return a search engine. There were 48 job opportunities when I checked the site.
- SRA International – Rounding off the list at 100 is SRA International which services national secrurity and civil government. Their career page has a brief overview of the company with featured jobs below. The left hand side of the page has links for Find a Career, Submit your Resume, Benefits and a link for College Candidates. Click Find a Career to link to the job search page which returned 444 job opportunities when I checked.
Good luck in your search.
