Continuing to leverage this Fortune Magazine “Best” list, I’ll review another 4 companies from the list, exploring their career sites and available jobs. While not reviewed/discussed here, you should also visit the Fortune website to review the article and to see what makes each of these companies “the best to work for”.
- Starbucks – 24 on this year’s list (down from 7), Starbucks is well known worldwide as a great place to work and is also on the “Age Friendly” list from Retirementjobs.com. Their career site provides company background and has a number of resources for job seekers. They have a section on recruiting events as well as career paths and internships. Clicking on Job Search links to a page that allows job search by country. Once you click your country, you can create a profile, upload your resume and save searches. A quick search in the US yielded 56 jobs when I checked.
- Johnson Financial Group – Based in Wisconsin, this company is a financial services firm with 63 locations. Ranked 25 on the list (up from 37 last year), they have 1,300 employees in the US. Their career page is mostly about the company, their culture and the benefits that make them one of the best companies to work for. Click on Search and Apply to create a job search agent and register on the site. You can view all jobs or select based on criteria. There were 23 job opportunities posted when I did a simple search.
- Aflac – Ranked 26 in their 10th year on the list (up from 30) on this years list, this insurer is based in Georgia and has almost 4,500 employees. Their career site is divided between Sales Opportunities and Corporate Employment. The Sales Opportunities has a link “Becoming an independent agent” as well as a link to Hispanic Recruitment. For Sales Opportunities you must call the number provided. The Corporate Employment link to their non-sales career center has a number of links including Job Search, College Recuriting, Recruiting events background on the company and more. From Job Search you can create a profile, save searches, manage your job submissions, register and, of course, search jobs. A quick search returned 31 job opportunities.
- QuikTrip – Based in Oklahoma with over 10,100 employees, QuikTrip was ranked 27 (up from 28) on this year’s list. QuikTrip is a 24 hour convenience chain and hired more than 1,400 employees last year and has never had a layoff! QuikTrip’s career site is well done with a host of links down the left-hand side (Opportunities, benefits, career paths and more). Career Opportunites provides quite a few choices, from part time to full time to student and non-store employment. You must click the How to Apply link to create the online application.
Good luck in your search.
