Targeted Search – Best Companies to Work For (Vol III)

This is the 3rd in a series of posts reviewing who’s hiring at the “Best Companies to Work For”. I’ll continue this series over the next few weeks until we run through the entire list (skipping companies reviewed in previous posts). Links to the prior posts are listed below:

Today’s reviews:

Qualcomm – Ranked 16 (down from 8 last year), Qualcomm manufactures and markets digital wireless telecommunications products. They are headquartered in San Diego, California and hire 750 interns a year (globally). Their career site has links (left-hand side of the page) to How to Apply, Profile (you can register on the site), Job Search and separate links for Experienced Hires and Students. A quick search returned 269 jobs across all locations (globally). You can search at any time but need to register on the site to submit your resume and apply for any opportunities.
Principal Financial Group – A provider of investment products, Principal Financial Group is ranked 17 (up from 21). Their career page is all about finding the right position. They provide telephone numbers if yo need assistance in the search or application process. There are career tools to upload and manage your resume, run saved searches and check on positions applied for. The site provides tools and company background as well as a robust section for Students (Internships, Co-ops, Campus Visits, etc.). Job search is either by location (U.S. and Foreign) or experience (Experienced hires versus recent Grads). A quick search returned 23 job opportunities in the U.S. (International job search is by country).
Shared Technologies – Shared Technologies, ranked 18 (up from 25), installs and supports telecommunications equipment. Their career site provides a company overview, followed by links for Search and Apply for Jobs, Benefits and “Application Process through the eyes of the Applicant” (an interesting page). I could not get their Job Search page to load when I tried it.
OhioHealth – Ranked 19 (down from 18), OhioHealth is a family of not-for-profit, faith-based hospitals and healthcare organizations. Their career site is combined with Volunteering and has links for Search for a Job, How to Apply and a number of informational links. A general search returned 197 jobs.
