As part of your job search, you should have developed a list of criteria to help you decide the companies where you would like to work. I covered Fortune’s “100 Best Companies to Work for” in a previous post (How does your Company Rate?). Today I will review some of those Company’s career sites.
- Wegmans – Wegmans is a 70+ food market store chain located primarily in the Northeast. They’ve been on Fortune’s list since 1998 and have been in the top 3 for the last 4 years. Their career site has tons of information on the company and what they are about (which is a very big part of what makes them one of the best companies to work for). This includes the reasons to work there, Diversity, Educational Initiatives and, of course, job listings. The job search is fairly basic. Once you find a potential job you apply via email.
- Genentech – Number 5 on Fortune’s list, Genentech is a Biotech company. Their career site also has a lot of information on the company. In addition to search jobs, they have links to their national career conferences as well as their campus recruiting. From their job posting page, you can create an account, add a resume, search for jobs and manage your job search at Genentech.
-
Cisco Systems – Cisco is the leading supplier of network equipment and is number 6 on Fortune’s list. You can view a short video from their careers page. You can review featured jobs, search for jobs and review the graduate and intern career programs. Once you click search for jobs you can register on the site. The search function is fairly advanced, the site uses your posted resume to help find a good job match.
-
Boston Consulting Group – Known as BCG, they are 11th on Fortune’s list. As their name implies, BCG is a top tier consulting firm. Their search page has “chart your own course”, BCG on Campus, Interview Prep and an FAQ. At the top of the page there are tabs which provide information which help you decide if BCG is for you. The “join us” tab takes you to “How to Apply”, where you can apply online.
Good luck in your search.
