If you are in the middle of a job search then you must hear 100 times per week “send your resume to me” and, not unlike musicians auditioning for their next gig, you might get one call for every 20 or 30 resumes you send (and that may be a bit high). You need to treat your job search like a marketing campaign. And, like any good marketing campaign, you need to let as many people as possible know about your product (you). While not everyone will like what you’re “selling”, there will be those that do and you must mass market in order to find buyers.
On that note, and keeping with my mantra “balance your job search” (Balancing your Search – Job Search Sites), it’s time again to add some recruiters/executive search firms to our list.
- Boyden Global Executive Search – As the name implies, Boyden is a global organization with offices located in North America, Latin America, Europe, Middle East/Africa and Asia Pacific. There are quite a few city locations within each region. There is a career center (for submitting your resume) as well as a knowledge bank with information on each region and some other articles and papers.
- Egon Zehnder International – Another well known executive search firm, the site has a career center and thought leadership section. The thought leadership center has a very wide range of article topics (Finance, Industrial, Technology, etc.). The Career section allows you to submit your resume (based on your country of residence).
- Futurestep.com – The Futurestep site (owned by Korn/Ferry), has information on industries, white papers and articles and a candidate section where you can register (or sign in). There is also a listing of job opportunities. Unlike other sites, you build your profile/resume in sections and then post your full resume at the end of the process.
- Bestheadhunters.com – This is a nationwide headhunter site which includes blogs (by job category) and a resume builder. This recruiter site is different in that you register on the site and then the recruiter’s clients fit your skills to their open positions.
Good luck in your search.
