You would be surprised as to what can be negotiated when offered a job opportunity. Yes, of course the bigwigs can negotiate for whatever they want. But what about the simple folks like us? We can negotiate as well. Most people think that salary and (remember the days of) sign-on bonuses are they only talking points, but you can also negotiate vacation and many other benefits. The trick is knowing when and what to push back on and when to give in.
Simply put, you need to prioritize what is most important to you. For many people these days, just getting a job would be great, let alone a big salary, bonus and vacation days.
